Hossein-Ali Zabehi, a painter, was born in 1945 in Tehran. He studied painting at the Tehran School of Fine Arts under prominent masters such as Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari, graduating in 1968. In 1971, Zabehi moved to Paris to continue his studies in painting at the École des Beaux-Arts. Beginning in 1988, he taught at the Boys’ School of Fine Arts, Daneshsara-ye ‘Ali (Teacher Training College), and Islamic Azad University. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, his works were regularly featured in both solo and group exhibitions. Zabehi’s paintings are often dominated by dark tones, with a distinctive blend of stylized figures and grotesque imagery. His primary subjects include portraiture and still life.
