My name is Elham Shiravi, I am 36 , I am from Iran and I have got a masters degree in painting and have been teaching art at universities for about 12 years. Painting has always been the only important thing which I have done in my whole life. I have always been obsessed with the very idea of HUMAN in my paintings, though , sometimes you cannot see the formal presentations of human in some of my works. Humane figures in connection with situations which are being made or destroyed by them are the main theme of my work. You can vividly trace the culture in which I am living, in most of my paintings. Most of my figures are WOMEN because I see their roles more challenging in my culture in order to live. Sometimes the very idea of human is decreased to a few portraits absent gender and their details have been lost in the very process of creation. The portraits which are struggling not to perish, though their annihilation is inevitable...
