Ali Nasir

Ali Nasir is a contemporary painter born in 1951 in Tehran. After completing his secondary education, he moved to Berlin at the age of 23, where he has lived and worked ever since. Nasir began his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1978 and a Master of Fine Arts in 1983. He also participated as an exchange student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, France. His early works were largely figurative, while in recent years he has shifted toward abstraction, creating vibrant, energetic compositions with strong visual movement that engage the viewer. Nasir’s first solo exhibition took place in 1993 at Golestan Gallery in Tehran, and since then his work has been presented in galleries and institutions in Tehran, Berlin, Dubai, and other cities worldwide. He currently collaborates with Gallery O and has taught at various art schools in Germany.
