Amir Moabad is a sculptor and installation artist born in 1974. He completed his studies in Painting at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Islamic Azad University in Tehran. In the early 1990s, he expanded his artistic practice by participating in visual arts festivals for young artists and receiving awards. In the following years, Moabad pursued sculpture alongside installation and performance, using everyday objects, tools, and readymade elements to transform the meanings of objects and redefine the relationship between viewers and space. He has participated in exhibitions and art events in Iran and abroad, including the Tehran Sculpture Biennials and exhibitions in Paris, London, and Berlin. In 2001, Moabad received third prize at the 3rd Tehran Sculpture Biennial. In 2003, with the support of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, he undertook an artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
