Behrouz Zindashti Artist Biography Behrouz Zindashti is a contemporary Iranian artist whose practice encompasses painting, calligraphy, and ceramics. His work is rooted in the visual and cultural heritage of Persian art while engaging with contemporary forms of abstraction and material experimentation. Zindashti holds a Master’s degree in Handicrafts from the University of Art in Tehran, with a specialization in Persian calligraphy. Over the course of his artistic career, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iran and abroad, as well as international art fairs and art auctions. His artistic language emerges from the dialogue between Persian calligraphic traditions and abstract visual structures. Line, form, movement, rhythm, and materiality are central elements of his practice, through which he explores the transformation of traditional visual symbols into contemporary artistic expressions. Working across canvas, paper, and ceramic, Zindashti approaches each medium as a space for experimentation and visual discovery. His works seek to establish a balance between gesture and structure, tradition and contemporary experience, and the physical presence of the material and the poetic potential of the line. Alongside his studio practice, Zindashti is a member of the Iranian Ceramic Artists Association, the Artists’ Support Fund of Iran, and the Institute for the Development of Contemporary Visual Arts. He also works as a university lecturer, combining artistic practice with teaching and the transmission of knowledge and experience to younger generations of artists. Zindashti has received national awards in the fields of Persian calligraphy and handicrafts. His professional career includes participation in art auctions in Iran and internationally, including Al Bahie Auction House in Qatar, as well as participation in international art fairs in Vienna, London, and Dubai. Through his ongoing exploration of Persian artistic heritage and contemporary visual language, Zindashti continues to develop a personal body of work situated between calligraphy, painting, and material-based art.
