Hadi Heidari, born in 1977 in Tehran, is a painter and press
cartoonist. After receiving his diploma in Literature and Humanities from
Farhang High School, he entered university to study Painting, ranked 11th in
the national entrance examination.
Heidari began his professional career as a cartoonist in
1994 through his collaboration with Gol Agha magazine. He subsequently
worked with newspapers and publications including Jame'eh, Neshat,
Asr-e Azadegan, Aftab-e Emrooz, Yas-e No, and Asr-e Ma.
In later years, he worked as an art director and editor of
illustration and cartoon sections at various newspapers. Since 2010, he
continued his press career as the editor of the illustration and cartoon
section of Shargh newspaper. Heidari has also served as a jury member at
several press and art festivals and received the Omid Journalism Award in 2013.
His cartoon The Blindfolded Men, published in Shargh
in 2012, became internationally known following the controversy surrounding its
publication.
