He is recognized as one of the pioneering modernist designers and a founding member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society. He studied architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts from 1968 to 1972. During his student years, he turned to graphic design, benefiting from the guidance of graphic designer Morteza Momayez. His professional career began in 1969 with designing posters for student theater productions and book covers. After the Iranian Revolution, Haghighi taught at various universities. He participated in the first Iranian Graphic Biennale in 1987. In 2001, he became a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). Haghighi often employs photomontage and symbolic imagery in his works, aiming for a clear yet profound expression. In addition to cultural posters, book covers, and logos, he has also worked on stage and costume design and film titles. He designed and produced ten episodes of the animated television series "Little Ali," which are notable examples of motion graphics in Iran. Haghighi has also been active in photography and calligraphy, showcasing his works in exhibitions. In his collection of photographs titled "Still Life," he addressed the theme of violence. His books "Real Signs," "Theater Posters," and "The Real Book" demonstrate the diversity of his designs. Notable works include the theater poster for "Romeo and Juliet," the poster for Sadegh Hedayat, the poster for the fourth edition of the House of Theater Festival, and the logo for the Film Magazine.
