Farino Atlasi is a painter born in 1994 in Tehran. She holds a BFA in Painting from Soore University in Tehran. In her practice, Atlasi engages with concepts such as time, change, permanence, and memorials. Through the use of diverse techniques and media, she creates fresh and experimental spaces. Her works adopt a symbolic approach to exploring the connections between human emotions, the surrounding environment, and layers of memory and inner transformation. She delves into anthropological themes, with the impact of contemporary events consistently present in the underlying layers of her work. Through painting, Atlasi addresses concerns such as destruction and the relationship between humans and ancient rituals; however, the spaces formed in her works are not limited to time-bound events. Rather, they unfold as a contemplative process that links the artist’s perspective to intellectual roots, customs, and symbols. For Atlasi, the creation of art is not only a reflection of her emotional response to the world around her and its manifestation in space, but also a means of communication—one that allows her to share concerns and emotions with her audience. In her paintings, historical contexts and personal backgrounds play a fundamental role, forming traces of reality in the viewer’s mind that support an understanding of the historical and invite exploration of both the past and the future.
