Flora Feyz-Bakhsh is a painter born in 1956 in Babol, Iran. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Economics from the University of Tehran. In the early 1990s, she studied painting under the guidance of Hannibal Alkhas. Feyz-Bakhsh held her first solo exhibition in 1996 at Bamdad Gallery in Tehran, marking the beginning of her professional presence in the Iranian art scene. Since then, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. From the mid-1990s onward, she has also been active in art education, teaching painting to children and adolescents. In 2010, she brought together a group of Iranian artists to organize a collective exhibition in Vancouver, Canada, expanding her practice into an international context. Her artistic language is characterized by a calligraphic approach to composition and a strong emphasis on figurative expression. Among her notable works are her calligraphy-inspired compositions from 2008 and a portrait of a woman created in 1999, both of which are considered key examples of her practice.
