Payam Mofidi, a visual artist and animator, was born in 1980 in Tehran. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Islamic Azad University, Tehran (2005) and a Master’s degree in Animation from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris (2009). Mofidi began his professional career with a group exhibition at Tehran’s Free Designers Gallery (2001) and held his first solo exhibition, Lost Memories, at Gallery Asar in Tehran (2012). His works have been exhibited in cities such as Montreal, Bangkok, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Paris, Sydney, and Amsterdam. He has received several awards, including the Jury’s Special Prize at the International Rhythmic Festival (2010) and the Contemporary Art Prize Jadoo-ye Pars (2012). Mofidi is also active in short animation, with notable works including Subito (2006) and Sha‘er Kashi (2009).
