Hamidreza Fotouhi, born in 1973 (1352 in the Iranian calendar) and a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tehran, began his artistic practice as a self-taught artist in the 1980s. He entered the professional art scene in 1995 (1374) with his participation in the First Biennale of Sculpture in Iran. In addition to sculpture, Fotouhi has extensive experience in stage design, set construction, and cinematography for film and television, which continued until 2013 (1392). From the early 2010s (1390s), Fotouhi focused primarily on professional sculpture, participating in more than fifteen group exhibitions and holding three solo exhibitions. His works combine form, space, and concept, creating a unique visual language in contemporary sculpture through the interplay of tradition and modernity. Notable international projects and exhibitions include Insomnia in Athens, the 30 Sculptors exhibition at Iran Shahr Gallery, and a group exhibition at Shams Gallery in Paris.
