Iraj Shayestehpour, a painter and poet, was born in 1946 in Tehran, Iran. He earned a degree in Agriculture from the University of Göttingen, Germany. After returning to Iran in 1969, he began his artistic career with the publication of his poetry collection Tired Songs Fly. Extensive travels across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, including close encounters with Native American cultures, have had a significant influence on his painting. His works, rooted in abstract expressionism and emphasizing movement, color, and texture, reflect a visual exploration of form and space. Shayestehpour’s paintings have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the United States.
