
Iraj Zand was a painter and sculptor born in 1950 in Tehran. After completing his undergraduate studies, he graduated in 1967 from the Faculty of Decorative Arts at the University of Art. In 1975, he moved to France to continue his education and graduated in 1981 from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (École des Beaux-Arts) in Paris, after which he returned to Iran. From 1985 onward, Iraj Zand held more than 150 solo exhibitions and participated in over 35 group exhibitions in Iran, France, Germany, Kuwait, and Portugal, showcasing his sculptures and paintings. Since 1984, he also taught at art universities in Iran. He was a member of the board of directors of the Iranian Painters Association. Iraj Zand passed away in 2006 in Tehran due to illness.
