
Maryam Tabatabaei, a painter, was born in 1980. She holds a Master’s degree in Painting from the University of Art, Tehran (2006) and a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Alzahra University, Tehran (2003). Since 2003, Tabatabaei has been actively participating in the Iranian and international art scene, with over 11 solo exhibitions of painting and drawing and more than 70 group exhibitions. She held her first solo exhibition in 2005 at Aria Gallery, and has since collaborated with galleries including Golestan, Elaheh, Art-Lab (Beirut), A Gallery, and Nian. Her works have also been presented at art fairs in Milan and Beirut. In addition to her artistic practice, Tabatabaei has been teaching drawing and painting since 2004 at various educational and university institutions. She currently teaches at the Boys’ Fine Arts High School and at Studio Kaghaz. Tabatabaei also works in illustration and printmaking, having illustrated more than fifty books for young readers.
