
Masoud Akhavan Jam is a sculptor born in 1969 in Tehran. He completed his secondary education at the Landheim Steinmühle boarding school in Marburg, Germany, and in 1989 moved to the United States to continue his studies. He studied at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1995. He then returned to Germany to pursue an Executive MBA and received his master’s degree from Kempten University of Applied Sciences in Germany. After returning to Iran, Jam began working in the production and industrial sector. During this period, his interest in sculpture developed, and he started creating bronze sculptures. He held his first solo exhibition in 2013, titled “Uprising,” at Etemad Gallery. He has since collaborated with Opera Gallery (London) and Khak Gallery. In addition to group exhibitions, his works have been presented at the Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair and the Intersect Art & Design Art Fair.
