mehrdad khataei

Mehrdad Khetaei is a painter and printmaker born in 1976 in Tabriz, Iran. He holds a Master’s degree in Painting. His professional practice in painting and printmaking began in the late 1990s and has since continued consistently through solo, group, and international exhibitions. His works, spanning a wide range of approaches in painting and printmaking, have been exhibited in numerous national and international shows in cities including London, Antwerp, Istanbul, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, China, Spain, France, Poland, and other major contemporary art centers. In Iran, his works have been presented in prominent galleries and art spaces such as Mah Gallery, Aaria Gallery, Eteh Gallery, Day Gallery, Laleh Gallery, and the Tehran House of Artists, among others. Khetaei has received the First Prize of the Premio Fibrenus 2015 from the Carnello Cultural Foundation in Italy, and was also selected as a finalist and award recipient at the 4th International Print Biennial of Valladolid, Spain (2014). He has further received awards, honors, and distinctions from numerous international biennials and art events across countries including the United States, Turkey, Italy, China, France, Poland, Portugal, Canada, Russia, and Japan. He is a member of the Iranian Painters Association, the International Association of California Printmakers (USA), the International Mezzotint Print Association, and The Print Center.
