Masoud Kashmiri (b. 1976, Mashhad, Iran) is a painter and illustrator whose practice is rooted in a realist approach with a particular focus on the human figure, especially women. After studying at the Fine Arts High School in Mashhad, he earned a B.A. in Graphic Design and an M.A. in Animation from the Art University of Tehran. Kashmiri began his professional career in the late 1990s, working across illustration, graphic design, and animation. Over the years, he has collaborated with numerous Iranian and international publishers and studios. His portfolio includes illustrations for dozens of books and magazines, book cover and title designs, contributions to the French magazine Espoir, and the production of the animated short film The Painter and the Bird (2004). He has also taught at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Semnan University, and the Art University of Tehran. Characterized by strong draftsmanship and a close relationship between painting and illustration, Kashmiri’s works depict everyday moments and emotional states of contemporary life. His paintings have been presented in solo exhibitions at O Gallery, Sales Gallery, Vesal Shirazi Gallery, Sofi Gallery, and Ariana Gallery, as well as in numerous group exhibitions throughout Iran, Europe, and Canada.
