Mohammad Modabber, one of the most prominent painters of Iran’s Coffeehouse Painting School, was born in 1890 (1269 AH) into a poor family in Tehran and lost his parents at an early age. As a teenager, he studied painting under Master Alireza Gholi Aghasi and soon developed his own distinctive style for depicting religious and epic scenes. His works are recognized for their vivid colors, dynamic compositions, and sincere expression of spiritual emotion. Notable paintings such as The Battle of Imam Hossein and The Day of Judgment exemplify his art. Modabber passed away in 1966 (1345 AH) in his workshop.
