
Omid Omidvari (b. 1982, Shiraz) is a photographer, educator, and researcher in photography and art. He studied photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. His practice explores questions surrounding the ontology of the photograph and the ways in which it is viewed and perceived. Omidvari began his photographic practice in 2008 through the Iranian Youth Cinema Society in Shiraz. His photographs have been selected and exhibited at numerous festivals and exhibitions in Iran and abroad, including receiving the Special Dr. Hadi Shafaeieh Award in the Environmental Portrait section of the 5th Firoozeh National Photography Festival, as well as participating in *Dialogue*, a group exhibition of photography students from the University of Art in Isfahan, among others. In addition to serving as a juror and giving lectures at various photography festivals and events, Omidvari has served as Secretary of the Scientific Photography Association at the University of Art in Isfahan, headed the *Lit* Photography Group, and collaborated with the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.
