Peyman Houshmandzadeh (born 1969, Tehran) is an Iranian writer and photographer and one of the founders of the Shid Award, an independent Iranian prize dedicated to social documentary photography. He has authored several books and has received numerous photography awards. His works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tehran, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Lebanon, Berlin, Australia, Georgia, Kuwait, New York, and Paris. Houshmandzadeh is a graduate of photography from Islamic Azad University. He began his career as a photographer working with magazines and photo agencies. Later, together with Javad Montazeri and Omid Salehi, he founded the 135Photos Agency. Among his best-known series are “Customs Teahouses” and “Hands and Belts.”
