Pouya Arianpour

Pouya Arianpour is an Iranian contemporary painter and sculptor, born in 1971 in Tehran. He began his artistic education at the Tehran High School of Fine Arts and continued his studies between 1993 and 1999, earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Painting from the University of Art and Architecture, Tehran. Since 2001, he has been teaching art at the same university while simultaneously pursuing his professional artistic career. His first solo exhibition was held in 1994 at Barg Gallery in Tehran, and over the following years, his works have been exhibited in prominent galleries both in Iran and abroad, including Golestan Gallery, Serendipity Gallery in Sweden, Sophia Gallery in London, and VHC Gallery in Pune. Arianpour has also actively participated in international biennials and has received awards such as the Fifth Tehran Painting Biennial and the Second Contemporary Islamic Painting Biennial. His works have been featured in major group exhibitions in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Dubai, Shanghai, and Beijing, and he has participated in art fair events such as Art Dubai, Art Fair India, and Frieze New York. Pouya Arianpour’s artistic style blends tradition with contemporary practices, incorporating conceptual explorations and research into Iranian aesthetics.
