
Sasan Moeidi is a photographer and visual artist, born in 1959 in Tehran. He began working in the public relations department of Iranian Television in 1976, where he studied photography under the masters of that period. In late 1979, after completing his military service, he started working in the photography unit of Soroush Publications under the direct supervision of the late Bahman Jalali. This documentary photographer was among the first photojournalists to document Saddam Hussein’s chemical attack on Halabja. Moeidi has always carried a camera with him and has said on one occasion that he cannot live without it. He has consistently worked as a documentary photographer and has never been interested in staged photography.
