to 1973, and then pursued a bachelor’s degree in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, from 1973 to 1979. Hosseini’s first solo exhibition was held in 1977 at Seyhoun Gallery. Since then, she has presented her works numerous times in various galleries, including Khak Gallery. She has also illustrated several children’s books. In the early years of her career, Hosseini focused on painting single portraits. However, from the 1980s onward, her practice shifted toward the meticulous representation of small objects such as pebbles, bone fragments, shells, insect wings, and similar elements. She carefully arranged these found objects inside boxes and displayed them as artworks. In a series entitled Recovered, Hosseini placed industrial and natural objects alongside images and written documents within her boxes. In their symbolic expressiveness and poetic sensibility, Hosseini’s boxes bear an affinity to the objects of the Surrealists.
