Shahram Karimi is a contemporary postmodern and experimental artist, born in 1957 in Shiraz, Iran. He works across painting, drawing, installation, multimedia art, and film production design. His artistic language is a fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, achieving a universal visual expression throughout his works. Karimi began his studies at the University of Decorative Arts in Tehran but continued his artistic journey independently after the Cultural Revolution. In 1987, he emigrated to Germany, where he immersed himself in the European art scene and developed new creative approaches. He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Iran, Germany, New York, Rome, and London, and his works have been showcased in major museums and galleries, including Brigitte Schenk Gallery, Leila Heller Gallery, and the Siegburg Museum. Karimi’s works have also appeared in international art fairs such as Art Cologne, Art Dubai, and Miami Art Fair, and have been featured in prestigious auctions including Tehran Auction, Fanham, and Phillips London. His artistic achievements also include receiving notable awards such as the Golden Lion of Venice and the Rheinsieg Art Prize for his work in film production design.
