Siavash Mazloomipour

Siavash Mazloumipour, a painter, was born in 1952 in Isfahan, Iran. He learned painting experientially, developing a passion for art from a young age, often spending hours observing the works of Master Yervand to study his techniques and style. Influenced by the styles of Sembat and Yervand, Mazloumipour introduced a modern approach to Iranian watercolor painting, creating imaginative works with a focus on aesthetics and a poetic sensibility. He graduated in Interior Architecture from the University of Art in 1975 and, alongside painting, was active in teaching, architecture, graphic design, and illustration. He illustrated and designed over 300 books and cassette covers, reflecting his versatile artistic practice. His interests in playing the Santur, acting, and writing poetry further demonstrated his multifaceted creative spirit. Mazloumipour’s watercolors have been exhibited widely in Iran and internationally, earning numerous awards. His birthday, May 19, has been designated as “National Iranian Watercolor Day.” He passed away in 2019.
