Termeh Yaghoobi

Termeh Yaghoubi Contemporary Iranian Artist, Born 1989 in Tehran, Graphic Design Graduate Invited to Germany in 2023 through the Martin Roth Art Residency, Termeh Yaghoubi now lives in Hamburg. During this period, she has been expanding her artistic practice in painting while exploring new cultures and examining the concept of art in exile. Her works primarily focus on the challenges of identity, bureaucracy, and social interactions, capturing the complex and often contradictory aspects of contemporary societies. In Yaghoubi’s pieces, endless queues and the search for a stable identity symbolize the human struggles within the complexities of modern life. At times, her characters transcend these queues, reaching a newfound sense of freedom and self-identity — a result of their awakening and rebellion against the dominant systems. Through humor and metaphor, she portrays the societal pressures of bureaucracy, where individuals are in search of something that is both seemingly attainable yet elusive, yet they remain waiting.
