Yaghoub Emadadian, a painter, was born in 1948 in Tabriz, Iran. He studied at the Mirak School of Fine Arts and the Tehran School of Fine Arts from 1966 to 1969. Emadadian then completed his undergraduate studies in painting in 1973 and earned a master's degree in graphic design in 1976 at the College of Decorative Arts. He held his first solo exhibition in 1971 at Khaneh Aftab Gallery in Tehran. Over the years, both before and after the Iranian Revolution, he held various professional roles, including organizing publications and exhibitions at Niavaran Cultural Center (1977–1979) and serving as Deputy and Art Consultant at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (1984–2004). After retiring from public service, he founded Hoor Gallery in 2005. Emadadian’s works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Iran—at galleries such as Siavash, Asar, and Hoor—and internationally, in countries including France, Switzerland, China, Canada, and the United States. He is primarily a landscape painter, with expansive and luminous vistas being a lifelong focus of his work. His early paintings often depicted rural houses, farmlands, and deserts in a semi-Cubist style, which gradually evolved into semi-abstract compositions where land and sky are transformed into geometric, colored, and textured forms. His recent works explore a poetic interplay of form and color, blending geometric structure with atmospheric mood. Notable series include “Desert,” “Paradise,” and “Night Lights.”
