About the Artwork

This portrait emerged from an encounter with the face and visual world of Bahman Mohassess. While retaining a recognizable likeness, the figure is reinterpreted through another painterly language. References to Mohassess’s character and work intertwine with the techniques and visual elements of my own practice, creating an image suspended between recognition and reinvention. Here, the portrait becomes more than a representation of a face; it is the outcome of an encounter between two visual worlds.
