About the Artwork

This work belongs to the series "Seeing." This series is born from the representation of my memories of forms—forms that emerged through the placement of colors alongside one another. The raised texture of the paints, lifting off the canvas, is an invitation to be touched. It is as if the contents of the canvas seek a way to exist, not merely to be watched, but to be touched by the viewer's eyes. This particular piece is the result of an improvisational encounter between myself, the paint, the canvas, and my memories. It had no preliminary sketch. Each stroke of the palette knife, with the placement of each color, advanced the story, and the final color brought it to a close.
