About the Artwork

To me photography born out of loneliness. Loneliness differs from confinement. Confinement might offer serenity but loneliness is agony. In the panorama of this populous city one may not feel the loneliness but it is filled with loneliness and sorrow. Oh, we are alone. Together, so near, so aloof. My camera is my mate through the sleepless night keeping track of loneliness and the windows reflecting my inner rather than display themselves. Similar to standing in front of the window and looking out. Inwards, outwards, inwards, self, else, alone, me. – Alireza Zangiabadi
