Ahmad Nasrollahi

Ahmad Nasrollahi

Ahmad Nasrollahi, born in 1951 in Babol, is a self-taught painter. He began his artistic career in 1976 in his hometown as part of the Free Painters Group. His involvement with the Free Painters Group placed him in an intellectual, active, and motivated environment, offering him the opportunity to become familiar with modernism and several modernist painters while also engaging with prevailing currents of intellectual thought. In 1977, he assumed the management of the Abri Gallery in Babol, where he also held his first solo exhibition that same year. Since then, Nasrollahi has held solo exhibitions in various cities, particularly at Abri Gallery in Babol and Siahoun Gallery in Tehran. His works have been featured in major national and international exhibitions, including the 1st and 5th Iran Painting Biennale, the 2nd Contemporary Islamic World Painting Biennale, One Hundred Years of Iranian Art, as well as international exhibitions in Florence, Beijing, Venice, the 4th Sharjah Biennale, Oldham Gallery in the UK, Leighton House Museum in London, Switzerland, and Shanghai, China.
