Akram Mahmoudi

Akram Mahmoudi (born 1981, Tehran) is an Iranian painter. She holds a B.A. in Painting from Shahed University of Art, Tehran. Her practice is grounded in reduction and abstraction; a process based on repetition and sustained practice which, in the artist’s words, allows new layers to emerge in painting over time and leads to a deeper re-seeing of the surrounding world. Her first solo exhibition was held in 2010 at Mehrva Gallery, Tehran. She has since collaborated with Inja Hall and Bashgah Gallery.
