Alireza Astaneh

Alireza Astaneh

Alireza Astaneh is a contemporary Iranian calligrapher, painter, and sculptor, born in 1982 in Arak. In 1997, he received the Excellent Degree from the Iranian Calligraphers Association, a foundational achievement that shaped his artistic trajectory and enabled him to expand the language of Persian script into painting and, notably, sculpture. His work has been exhibited in major national and international venues since the late 2000s, including the group exhibition Masters of Nastaʿlīq Calligraphy at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art. Astaneh held his first solo exhibition, Castelli, at Homa Gallery in 2011, marking the beginning of an ongoing collaboration with the gallery. He has participated in significant global events, including the 9th Shanghai Biennale and the 56th Venice Biennale (Iran Pavilion). His work has been featured at international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Dubai, and Viennafair. His works are held in collections such as the Lulu Al-Sabah Collection and the Agricultural Bank Treasury Collection.
