Samira Alikhanzade

Samira Alikhanzadeh is a prominent contemporary artist, born in 1967 in Tehran. She began studying painting under the mentorship of Aydin Aghdashloo in 1987 and later earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Painting from the Faculty of Art and Architecture, Tehran. Her works combine old photographs, mirrors, and acrylic paint, reflecting identity and collective memory in contemporary Iran Since the 1990s, Alikhanzadeh has held numerous solo exhibitions at galleries such as Golestan Gallery and Asar Gallery in Tehran, A.B Gallery in Zurich, Art Space in London and Dubai, and Robert Klein Gallery in Boston. Her works have been showcased at international art events including Paris Photo, Art Basel Switzerland, Art Dubai, Contemporary Munich, and Tir Art She represented Iran at the 56th and 58th Venice Biennale. Additionally, her works have been regularly offered and sold at major international auctions, including Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Bonhams.
