Talieh Kamran

Talieh Kamran, painter and santur player, was born in 1930 in Tehran. She began studying painting in her teenage years under Shokouh Riazi, and through her education in Rome and Paris, she moved from classical approaches toward a personal and modernist expression. Kamran began her professional artistic career in 1962 by participating in the Third Tehran Biennial, and held her first solo exhibition in 1968 at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. She later collaborated with galleries such as Seyhoun and Haft Samar. Her works have also been presented and sold on multiple occasions at Tehran Auction. Talieh Kamran passed away in Tehran in 2017 due to cancer.
