Vahid Mohammadi

Vahid Mohammadi

Vahid Mohammadi was born in 1982 in Tehran. He received his bachelor’s degree in painting from Shahed University in 2006. His first group and solo exhibitions were held at Atbin Gallery in 2006 and 2010, respectively, and his works have since been showcased in various galleries. At first glance, light and darkness, experimental approaches to color application, and reflections on the concept of “chance” form the core themes of Mohammadi’s work. He describes this process as “reconstructing an abstract space,” and explains: “For me, creating means reducing chance to its minimum — what I do is to control occurrences. I seek a way to paint both a landscape and a street corner with no difference in approach.” The world of Mohammadi’s paintings is fused and diffused — like an image both distant and near, rich with familiar yet strange colors, expressed in a musical tone and rhythm. His works, while seemingly referring to something familiar outside themselves, are open to infinite interpretation.
