About the Artwork

"The Horned Baby Monster" is a member of the series "The Charming Baby Monsters." This series is defined by two formal elements: gaping mouths with bloody teeth and handless bodies. A childlike color palette serves as the shared visual motif across all works. This creature is distinguished by a horn-like protrusion at the front of its head, reminiscent of a rhino's horn. Unlike its vividly colored counterparts in the series, this piece employs a cream-brown color scheme. However, the floral patterns adorning its body inject the same playful, childish essence intrinsic to the collection's visual identity. The sculpture is meticulously hand-built, initially bisque-fired at 1050°C, then glazed and finished in a final firing at 1080°C.
