Ali Chitsaz, an Iranian painter living in the United States, was born in Tehran in 1979. He studied at Tehran Azad University and then at the Art Institute of Chicago. Chitsaz's works have been shown in international exhibitions in Tehran, London, New York, Athens, and Dubai. In his works, Chitsaz confronts the audience with the complex boundaries of identity, power, and cultural entanglement. His paintings examine political, religious, and social structures with a humorous perspective. This article analyzes five works from the series that were exhibited in the “Comeback” exhibition.
