Art has always become a platform for expressing protest, resistance, and social reflection at critical historical moments. In contexts of war, political repression, colonialism, or structural inequalities, artists do not merely produce aesthetically pleasing works; they use their medium to critique power and represent truth. When these responses take the form of interdisciplinary collaborations—linking literature, theater, music, graphic design, and cinema—the protest message becomes multilayered, reaches broader audiences, and is consequently more impactful. In this synergy, different artistic media—such as sound, imagery, and performance—reinforce one another, transforming art into a multifaceted cultural-political statement with audiences wider than those of any single artistic domain. This paper introduces three interdisciplinary protest works in contemporary art.
