Biography

Hengameh Abedin was born in Tehran. She is graduated from Allameh Tabatabai University in the field of Business Administration. She began painting academically with Ali Faramarzi in 1989, and seriously continued her career at the Art Institute of Zinjar in 1993 under the supervision of Aydin Aghdashloo.

She published her first collection of poems in 2000 entitled "Singing with Love", and since then her poems have changed to a poem-like expression and closer to visual language.

At the moment, besides painting and holding exhibitions of her artworks, she is teaching painting in her own atelier, and her writings on contemporary Iranian art are published in domestic and foreign magazines.

Description

The world of my painting is influenced by poetry and poetic atmosphere. A world of signs, old fashions and new combination of themes. My painting is a dreamlike world like walking in sleeping and awakening mode in coexistence with the fact whose source is the painter's mind. A human who is part of the whole and returns to the whole and to thyself. All my paintings are inspired by my mind, my soul and my dreams, and all the elements are influenced by historical memory, people and objects, the social and cultural forms in which I live. In my paintings I move from abstraction to figurative and vice versa.
