Biography

Mojtaba Ramzi, born in Tehran in 1973, is an Iranian sculptor. He initiated his artistic journey in graphic design, later expanding into painting and animation directing at the university level. With over two decades of experience as a sculptor, he has also served as an academic mentor for more than ten years.

The core themes of Ramzi's artworks encompass life, liberty, destiny, fate, and symbols of gambling. He endeavors to contemporize legendary creatures such as Griffins and Sphinxes, infusing them with a modern essence. Throughout his narrative, he draws inspiration from visual traditions rooted in prehistorical, ancient Iranian, and Mesopotamian art.

Ramzi aims to establish connections with diverse audiences globally, intertwining local motifs and legends into his works. He has showcased his creations in six solo exhibitions across Tehran, Paris, and Beirut. Additionally, he actively participated in various events, including art fairs, residencies, biennials, and auctions held in Tehran, Paris, London, Toronto, Budapest, Transylvania, Seoul, Beirut, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Since 2019, Ramzi has collaborated with Khak gallery and featured in the Abu Dhabi art fair alongside other international artists.
