My name is Mahmood Vatankhah and I am close to graduating with an M.A in Islamic arts at Tehran University of Iran. I have been involved with different aspects of arts for the past 15 years. Due to my contributions, I have been chosen as a member of Exceptional Talents Organization and Iran's National Elites Foundation. In addition, I have participated actively on the national and international stages including festivals, workshops and exhibitions in Iran, Germany and the USA through which I have received prestigious awards. On the national stage, I have been recognized with an excellence diploma as the best young artist of my province (Alborz) in 2016. On the international stage, for instance, I had the opportunity to teach principles of the Persian calligraphy in an educational seminar organized by Pädagogische Hochschule University of Freiburg in Germany in 2016. Furthermore, I have participated in San Francisco’s “Rite of passage” exhibition in 2016.
The main focuses of my studies have been on traditional and modern calligraphy. at the same time, I'm really interested in the theory of the arts, especially in advance levels of history of art or philosophy of art. Within the past five years I learned different Islamic arts in theory and practical, like Negargary (Persian painting), gol o morgh, illumination, traditional designing, some handy crafts in art University of Isfahan and I succeeded to excel specially in Calligraphy and a modern art of that in contemporary Iran's art named naghashikhat (calligraphy-painting).
